Core Legacy Inc. (“Core Legacy”, “we”, “us”, “our”), administrator of the terrawise.io website, is committed to protecting the privacy of consumers who visit and use our website and of our customers (“you”, “your”). Please read this Privacy (“Policy”) before using our website at terrawise.io (“website”, “site”). This Policy applies to how we collect and process your personal data on the site. Core Legacy reserves the right to modify this Policy at any time. If amended, we will provide notice to you by publishing the most current version of this Policy and revising the Effective Date at the top of this page. If we make a material change to this Policy, we will provide additional notice by sending you an email and/or displaying a prominent notice on our websites. You may contact us at the address in section “How To Contact Us”, below, to obtain a copy of this Policy at any time.
What we collect and why
We ask only for what the service and our legal obligations require, such as: (a) your email address (to send you the link to your report and to answer support requests, and to perform our contract with you); (b) billing data (name or company name, billing address, tax number for companies if required, email address, and the like, to charge for the service and to issue an invoice.); and (c) the property address you ask about, which is the subject of the service — we cannot produce a report without it. Please note that a property address, and the ownership records attached to it, may relate to a person other than you. We obtain those records from official public registers, which publish them by law.
We do not sell your data. Where we share it, the sections below say with whom and what they receive.
Website logs
Our server records each request to the site: the address you asked for, your IP address, the page you came from, your browser and device as your browser reports them, the response we returned, and, if you searched for a property, the property address you typed in. We use this to keep the site working, to spot abuse, and to see which pages people reach. These records are deleted after thirty days.
Payment
Stripe (stripe.com) processes your payment and receives your billing and payment data. Card details are handled entirely within Stripe’s systems, which meet the PCI-DSS standard; we neither see nor store them. Stripe’s privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy.
Public data services
To build your report we query public data services with the property address or its coordinates. Those queries necessarily disclose the address to the operator of each service. They do not receive your name, your email address or your payment data, and they are not told who is asking.
The services we query include: the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder and American Community Survey; the Florida Geographic Information Office parcel service and the Florida Department of Revenue tax roll; FEMA flood hazard mapping; the Florida Division of Emergency Management; NOAA; the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; the FBI Crime Data Explorer; the FCC; AirNow; Open-Meteo; OpenStreetMap; Wikipedia; and Google Maps and Street View for the map and imagery shown in the report. Most of these are United States government services, and the intended users of this website are adult individuals residing in the United States.
Where a report includes generated commentary, the property data is sent to a third-party AI provider to produce that text. Your name, email address and payment data are never included.
Advertising measurement
We advertise on Facebook, Instagram and Google, and we measure whether those advertisements work. Our pages therefore load two measurement tags: the Meta pixel and the Google Ads tag. Each one tells the company behind it that a browser opened a page on terrawise.io; the Meta pixel also reports, after a purchase, that an order was placed and for how much. Both receive the page address, your IP address, your browser and device details, and the identifiers stored in that company’s own cookies, which may let it connect the visit to your Facebook, Instagram or Google account. Neither receives your name, your email address, the property address you asked about, or your payment details. Each company decides on its own how it uses what it receives; see facebook.com/privacy/policy and policies.google.com/privacy.
If you would rather not be measured this way, your browser’s tracking protection or an ad blocker will stop these tags from loading, and both Meta’s and Google’s own advertising settings let you limit how your activity is used.
How the site is used
To see where visitors get stuck, our public pages load Hotjar (operated by Contentsquare). It records page views, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and can replay a visit as a recording; text you type is masked before it leaves your browser. Hotjar receives your IP address in shortened form, your device and browser details, and sets its own cookies. It does not run on report pages, so the contents of a report are never part of a recording. Hotjar’s privacy policy: hotjar.com/legal/policies/privacy. Your browser’s tracking protection or an ad blocker stops it from loading, and Hotjar honours the Do Not Track setting.
How long we keep it
We keep billing data for eight years from the date of issue, or even shorter if allowed by applicable law. Your email address, the property address and the report are also kept for a one-year access period, and after that for the general applicable legal limitation period so that we can deal with any dispute or other proceeding.
Reminder emails
If you start an order and do not complete the payment, we may send you up to three reminder emails over the following days, with a link to pick up where you left off. Each reminder contains a link to stop them. These emails include a tiny image that tells us whether the email was opened, and the link tells us whether it was clicked; we use this only to see whether the reminders are worth sending. Once you pay, no further reminders are sent.
Your account
You do not need an account to buy or read a report: the link we email you is enough. If you would rather keep your reports in one place, the email we send after a purchase contains a link where you can choose a password. Doing so creates an account for the email address you bought with; we store your email address and the password in an encrypted (hashed) form, which means we cannot read it. Signing in then shows you the reports bought with that address. Ask us at the address below if you want the account closed.
Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction. Your report is reachable only through a private, unguessable address that we send to you.
Children
Our website and services are not aimed at children, defined as individuals under the age of 13. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (“COPPA”) and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have personal data of children, whether through error, deception or fraud, we will delete the data unless there is a justifiable reason to retain such data in compliance with COPPA. Customer accounts on this Site are intended for adults who are at least the age of majority in their state, province, or place of residence; please see our Terms and Conditions for further detail.
Your rights
You may ask us to: tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy; correct anything inaccurate or incomplete; delete your data, except what we must keep by law, such as invoices; restrict how we use it in certain circumstances; hand it over in a structured, commonly used format; or stop processing that relies on a legitimate interest.
